The SMM-A2 is a new highly sensitive microphone, optimized to deliver better recordings than all previous models.
Weather-resistant, the SMM-A2 features a differential output that significantly reduces noise from electromagnetic sources. Improvements made to this microphone allow stronger signal transmission over cables (up to 100 meters). It also includes a differential output that greatly reduces noise and interference from electromagnetic sources.
The result is superior recording quality, even when cables are routed alongside other cables, on meteorological towers or wind turbines.
The omnidirectional SMM-A2 is ideal for unattended recordings where the precise direction of activity is unknown. It is compatible with SM3/SM3BAT, SM4 (acoustic), and SM5/SM5BAT.
SOLD AS A SINGLE UNIT.
When used with cables, ensure the microphone is positioned slightly or fully downward (it is omnidirectional) to prevent water from accumulating in the foam. Prefer elevated installations so the microphone points downward.
Always use the protective foam.
Ensure the foam is not pressed against the microphone tip; an air gap must remain between the microphone end and the foam.
Do not handle the microphone if the protective foam is wet.
