To this end, in 1992 he set up the ASPROGEO Association (Association pour la Protection et la Valorisation du Patrimoine Géologique du Grand Sud-Ouest) and headed the Commission Régionale du Patrimoine Géologique (Regional Commission for Geological Heritage), responsible for drawing up an inventory of this heritage in Languedoc-Roussillon.
