This book, the result of several decades of work coordinated by Henri-Pierre Aberlenc, is the work of 56 entomologists from 14 countries.

This new edition, four years after the first, includes numerous changes:

  • Of course, there is a scientific update. In four years, knowledge has progressed and we have incorporated new data relating to the topics covered in the book. New families have been defined, and species and genera have been described. The bibliography has been expanded. It was necessary to thoroughly revise certain chapters (those devoted to Protura, Orthoptera, Phasmatodea and Hymenoptera).

  • The box set is much larger, in order to showcase the illustrations, the interior format has been increased from 23 x 28 cm to 25 x 34 cm, and the covers will be hardback instead of softback as in the first box set.

  • In the first edition, we had one volume in black and white with the texts and a second volume with the colour illustrations. Now, we have combined the texts and colour illustrations in the two volumes.
