The Zoom H5 is a versatile portable recorder equipped with the XYH-5 stereo microphone capsule on a shock mount, capable of handling up to 140 dB SPL for clear and precise recordings.

It features two XLR/TRS combo inputs with phantom power (12/24/48V), allowing connection to a Manalive Audio hydrophone. It also has a 3.5mm mini-jack input that can be connected to a Birdmic parabolic microphone, the Baton, and the Bat 4 and Bat 5 models, for recording multiple species.

Recording up to 4 tracks in 24-bit/96 kHz (WAV, BWF, or MP3) on an SD card, the H5 also offers a limiter, compressor, low-cut filter, and automatic recording functions.

It is notably recommended in the participatory protocol "Night Flight" for studying nocturnal bird migrations.

The Zoom H5 Handy Recorder is a versatile portable audio recorder, designed to deliver professional-quality results both in studio and field recording. It comes with a removable X/Y microphone capsule (XYH‑5), consisting of two unidirectional condenser microphones in a 90° XY configuration, mounted on a shock mount to reduce handling noise, and capable of withstanding a maximum sound pressure level of 140 dB SPL.
