128 pages in French and English, to review the state of knowledge on the 14 species of Procris that inhabit continental France. The aim of this book is to enable you to accurately determine, by means of a partially illustrated determination key, these famous green zygens so often absent from your inventories and collections.
Documentation in French is rare and expensive. This work is based on more than 15 years of information gathering in public and private collections (450 direct or indirect contributors), verification by genitalia of specimens, and culminating in a national cartography of each species, compiled by the GIRAZ Zygaena. For each Procris, you'll find a monograph describing external and internal morphology, known biology in France, biotopes, distribution and threat status. All of this is accompanied by a representation of the male and female genitalia, a distribution map with a 10x10 km UTM point for each datum, a phenology diagram showing the altitude of the specimens verified, a watercolor depicting a pair of the species spread out, and photos usually showing imagos in the wild, the caterpillar, sometimes the plant or a biotope. A total of 68 color photographs and 152 illustrations (drawings, maps and diagrams) to familiarize you with Procris.
